Golden cAge This head is a reflection on the materialistic society which we in the west live in and the rest of the world aspires to. A society which idolises the rich and famous, pressuring everyone else, especially young people, to achieve this status. And yet, it seems that the majority of people choose to ignore the basics: money is no guarantee for happiness and HAPPINESS is much more important than money!
All the people included in the cage of our Golden Age are people who had or have money and fame which did/does not necessarily bring them happiness. The pictures are cut outs from popular glossy gossip magazines which promote the culture of money and fame. The relationship between these people and these types of magazine are also interesting as they are mutually dependant & detrimental. bird cage, polystyrene head and magazine clippings
